About Us

SpaceProbe Pvt. Ltd. is a pioneering initiative emerging from the University of Mumbai, born from a shared dream among young researchers and a dedicated faculty member to explore, innovate, and contribute meaningfully to the nation’s growing space science ecosystem. What began in a modest university laboratory powered by determination rather than resources has evolved into a vibrant startup that connects academic research, technological innovation, and societal application.

Over the years, the founding team has worked rigorously in the fields of space weather, solar–terrestrial physics, geospatial analytics, and space technology development. The group has earned national and international recognition for its scientific contributions. The journey has not been without challenges. Many of our highly trained postgraduate students, who formed the foundation of our research group, have gone on to pursue doctoral and post-doctoral studies at leading national and international institutes due to limited funding opportunities. Their success brings pride, yet it also highlights the need for a sustainable ecosystem where passionate students and researchers can continue their work within the country.

To address this challenge, SpaceProbe Pvt. Ltd. was established under the University of Mumbai Incubation Center as part of an initiative encouraging faculty and student-led startups. Through this venture, we aim to create a bridge between academic excellence and innovation, ensuring that ideas developed in university research environments translate into practical and impactful solutions.

SpaceProbe operates through four key verticals:

Space Weather Alerts and Forecasting: We develop models and analytical tools to predict solar activity and assess its impact on satellites, communication networks, and power systems.
